Hi, I’m 20m, 5’6 and I’m in the market for a new ride. I have a 2000 Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic (which I enjoy the seat height and it was very comfortable) at the moment, which finally decided it was done being used. I keep about 800 a month post tax and bills, and I know most people would say to get a sportster or sportster XL, however I’d like something a bit larger and I’ve been eyeing possibly a dyna or softail simply because I would like the 6th gear and the ability to ride 2 up. I do live in the Ozarks and I’m constantly looking on marketplace for one, but they average around 7-12k for even 20 year old bikes, and I can’t save up that much in any decent amount of time, bc as y’all know, things tend to go wrong with any decent amount of money in the bank. I wanted to know if it’s worth it for the dealer fees and whatnot to go and finance a new ride. My credit score is not great , but I have a 675 currently due to lack of debt and credit age. Ofc I’d wait a month or so to make sure I had a better down payment but any advice would be appreciated. If it helps, I’m not a dangerous rider, respect the speed limit and everything else I don’t need anything wicked fast.
