Given this sub is getting a lot of interest from newbies, I compiled a quick list of reminders to keep in mind if you want to maintain this hobby in moderation in the long-run.

1. Thou shall be true to yourself – do it only if you are comfortable with yourself doing it. We all feel guilty from time to time but if you can’t live with keeping secrets, don’t do it.

2. Thou shall be curious – if you decide to do it, explore different places and different levels of service to see what works best for you.

3. Thou shall be respectful – treat the MTs with respect, despite the things people choose to do for money. Don’t be a jerk.

4. Thou shall be safe – don’t get tempted to raw dog, ever. It is not worth the risks, especially if you go back home to a partner that has nothing to do with your actions but has to face the consequences.

5. Thou shall be generous – tip generously, don’t skimp. After all, they are doing unspeakable things for your pleasure.

6. Thou shall be clean and well-groomed – no one wants hair in their mouth or deal with BO. Full stop.

7. Thou shall be cautious – scope out the place and try to get enough information before you venture out. Even while there, broach the subject carefully after you see enough signs to do so.

8. Thou shall be financially responsible - don't spend more than what you can afford. Don't take out loans to finance your sexual pleasure. Budget with discipline and only spend from discretionary income.

9. Thou shall be protective of privacy – debated on this sub but better not to give out your real number, address etc.

10. Thou shall be discreet – don’t kiss and tell. Don’t blab to your friends, coworkers or family members as this stuff gets around. Only share with fellow mongers once you know they are trustworthy enough to take this to the grave.
