Spoilers for prodigal son kinda.

I saw the trailer and decided that it was going to be a “crime” show with comedy. Not my type of thing. But alas, there was nothing else on tv so I switched over to watch it. Here’s what I think. It’s like a Hannibal rip off dumbed down to riverdale proportions. The guy gets to a crime scene and says something like “I think from the killers point of view” and then this chick that looks like Rosa? From Brooklyn nine nine says “So you think like a killer?”. I nearly yeeted my controller at the tv screen. I don’t know who to rant at. The characters, up until the last 5-10 minutes of the show, were written as these quirky, people? Like, I think it was supposed to be banter or something? With the “cool” mom encouraging her son to take her anxiety medication and, some weird meds from the 80s? The only character I liked was the old cop near the end. It’s probably a good show and I’m just a grumpy old woman, minus the old part, but just. I don’t know, it’s so upsetting that the masterpiece that is Hannibal got cancelled, and that when people do watch it they usually don’t get it, and then we have shows like this come out and I have people tell me ermagahd it’s sooo god. Like don’t speak to me about good. Tell me to watch 13 reasons why season 3 again and I’ll personally shut down Netflix myself. Anyways, mindhunter does a good job of “Young hip detective that don’t play by the rules”. Rant over.
