A character I don't see come up in discussion a lot is Alana Bloom, when she does come up, it's usually under her criticism of her blindness to Hannibal's manipulations. As a fairly strong supporter of Doctor Bloom, I would like to point out a few things.
Alana has acted quite largely this season as a more realistic, relatable character. She has no hidden agenda, and she is put in the unfortunate situation of being between Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter. Given that she has known Doctor Lecter for years prior to her meeting with Will, AND that Will was both visibly unstable, and then incarcerated, it's fairly common-sense of her to trust Hannibal over Will. Hannibal has given her pretty much no reason for her not to trust him.
I mean, come on. Alana's not being stupid, in fact, I think know that we're seeing her breakaway from Hannibal's artfully crafted manipulations, it's only testament to her intelligence. The two people who have given her reason to distrust Hannibal are Will and Doctor Chilton, I can't recall any moments between her and Jack discussing the suspicions surrounding Hannibal. Needless to say, the general consensus in the Hannibal reality seems to be that Frederick Chilton is/was the Chesapeake Ripper. The two sources suggesting that Hannibal is anything less than a gentleman aren't exactly what I would call trustworthy.
Also, as a side note, Caroline Dhavernas' scene where she tv spoiler in the most recent episode was incredibly well done.
