So I own a house built in 1985 and the HVAC just went out. Iām active duty military and looking to maximize value of what people consider valuable when buying a house around here as I wonāt be in this house much longer. Here is my situationā¦.
I bought the house and it was all electric. I have since had gas installed when I had my hot water heater upgraded to a gas tankless. My question isā¦. Is it worth it to upgrade to gas heat vs heat pump. I have a dual zone system and the upstairs of the house would need to stay heat pump but I can get gas installed for about $4k more. Will I see the return on investment in this area when I go to sell later this year?
Additionally, the only other āneedā I would consider on the house is replacing the original windows. Is replacing the windows a good return on investment as well or just let it ride? There are 12 windows on the house plus a large bay window.
Thanks in advance for the insight if you all can help.
