I have a friend that lives in Hamilton and she desperately needs regular therapy. She is very poor and can’t afford most traditional rates. She doesn’t drive so options outside of Hamilton may be difficult.
I’m not Canadian but I’m told that your great free healthcare doesn’t cover mental health.
I know there are some options for poor people here in the states. For example, I know that people can see the therapists in training at various universities. I’ve heard there are long waitlists but it’s free (or very cheap.)
My friend feels like she doesn’t have any options. Thanks in advance for any advice that may help her!
