How do you deal with trauma? How does evil evolve?
Halloween Ends may not be a film for all Halloween fans, but I couldn't have asked for a better, more thematic, and absolutely brutal end for David Gordon Green's trilogy.
The last two films had Michael on an absolute killing spree, and this movie elaborates on the impact it had on Haddonfield and its residents. For years, Michael has loomed over everyone, and it has affected them in every way possible.
Even though he wasn't doing most of the damage and was weakened due to the events of 2018. Michael's evil was still at work. The true villain of this movie is The Shape, and not the man Michael Myers. Evil can take on many forms, and it can pass on and live through other people. The film provides a much needed and refreshing take on the true "curse" of Michael Myers.
Halloween (2018) was about fearing evil. Halloween Kills was about the chaos evil causes. Halloween Ends is about confronting and overcoming evil.
As of now, there are many mixed reactions to this movie... but, as time goes on I can see it being looked on much more favorably.
