Should i start minoxidil?

Hi,I'm 19, M, and for the last 8/9 months NY hair has thinned a lot all over my scalp, but especially on the hairline,with most of the hair falling with a white bulb at the end. I went to a derm in september and he told me that my hair loss is caused by a buildup of sebum. I feel much better and i no longer have an oily scalp,but i am still losing hair. The first pic is what my hair looked like in april. So my question is,can minoxidil help me regrow my hair to how it was before,considering that my hair loss should not be MPB?
