What type of hair doesn't like coconut oil?

Post Body

My hair used to respond well to coconut oil but suddenly that changed. Now it just makes it greasy (like I touch my hair and feel the oil on my fingers) and limp, and it takes forever to dry (it's been 24 hours and my hair is still damp although I did keep it in a lose bun for some of that time). Rewashing the next day seems to fix it, even though I know I washed the oil out properly the first time.

It's just so weird because my hair used to like coconut oil and then I took a month long break and when I tried again this happened. I probably won't try it again but I'm just wondering if that says anything about what type of hair I have so I can understand what it needs better.

From what I can tell it's low porosity, natural no heat damage, but it tends to be very frizzy (I have a theory that I've caused breakage with aggressive brushing, which is a habit I'm now trying to break).
