I've been trying to grow out my hair as of recent, and I noticed that as it got longer it broke off more frequently. But it was a consistent thing, I just assumed it was natural. I added some protein products to my hair care, keratin moisturizing coconut oil to strengthen it, on top of my regular products: Head and Shoulders full and thick, african hair gro conditioner (just a load of vitamins). I have a good routine, where I wash only once a week and add oil or a light bit of pomade every two days. And it's been fine, my hair is thick and jet black except for thinning patches of male pattern baldness, and despite being 4c its quite manageable and soft. Now, my hair has gotten even longer and thicker and now the breakage/shedding is ridiculous. My restroom is covered in my shed hairs and I can't run my hand over my head without a few broken hairs and a few full follicles. Everytime I sit down the a long hair or two will fall out onto the table. And sometimes they come out in balls. I've been slightly stressed over the past week or two, college exams and family troubles, but I've been stressed before and body has never reacted like this.
The hair itself looks healthy, and it seems to be growing as usual just a little slower. I just want to know why its doing this.
