How I help my replacement last for 12 or more months.
Post Body

I get my custom-made lace front replacements from Lord Hair and have for years. It's not so much from where it is purchased, but how it is made and HOW I TREAT it that makes the difference:

  1. Lace with poly perimeter with silk lining to protect the knots.

  2. Remy hair means there is less chance of tangling, so there is less chance of pulling out hair.

  3. Don't sleep it it!!! This is the worst for losing hair!

  4. Tape it on - no bonding ever. Cleaner

  5. Wash it less frequently because it is not bonded. (I wash* rinse* wash if necessary about every ten days.) Use a shampoo formulated for hair replacements and you don't need much. Fill the sink with warm water, add shampoo, dip, and squeeze the replacement in the water, keeping the hair in the same direction until it is clean. Squeeze it dry, and don't rub it!

  6. Deep condition with Remy Soft or Olaplex. These are expensive but worth it; you only need about a teaspoon or so of the treatment. Apply it and comb it through with a tooth comb in one direction. Let it sit for at least 20 minutes. Rinse under tepid water until the water runs clear. Squeeze it in a towel, apply tape, reapply, and style with a warm (not hot) blow dryer.

All these points help separately and together to minimize hair loss over time.

I have done this consistently for decades, and my replacements have always lasted a long time, at least 12 months.
