First pic is 2 days after shaving, before i started treatments. Second pic is 4 days after shaving, 3 sessions in!
What I paid: $700 for 6 sessions (would have been more - but I had relations to the esthetician so it was discounted. Without discounts, $1400)
Hormones: Before I decided to get laser, I did get my hormones checked repeatedly. I also lost about 60 lbs to see if my weight was the issue and found that being super obese did make the hair worse but definitely wasn’t the sole cause. Turns out, most of the women in my family have the same problem! Anyways, after checking my thyroid, DHEA, all that stuff, no markers for PCOS or any hormone conditions.
Appointments: Usually like 20 minutes long & 4 weeks apart. After my third session, we moved to 6 weeks. The hair smell during the session can be wonky and the doctor told me mine isn’t so bad because I eat very clean. The pain is a solid 5/10, it feels like being thwacked with a rubber band over and over. My esthetician usually stops halfway through to let me relax my position before resuming and again before hitting the mustache (silent tears.)
Other stuff: My skin looks so much better now presumably from not having to shave as much and less things like ingrowns or irritated follicles. I did get a good sunscreen to put on daily, and always after appointments. I do plan on doing another 7 sessions if needed, or purchasing them to use as touch ups.
I could not be more happy and grateful for my laser experience. Highly recommend. I will update this post again when my sessions are finished and again after some time has passed.
