Adamant Rail aspect of Zag power... WHERE???

I've been playing the game for a while now but I'm really trying to figure out something...
How the HELL do you make the Adamant Rail (aspect of Zag) actually good? Like any tips on boons/upgrades or something along those lines? Out of all the weapons and all i have the most issues (and deaths) with this so I know I'm the problem. Just open to ideas so I can get freaking bounties.
