I want to test this idea with myself - would anyone want to join me?
I feel like I set goals and habits for myself, but still don't meet them. The usual habit tracking apps, with reminder notifications and list check-offs, ironically become something I ignore ):
It works like this:
- Set a goal and pledge $x amount of money that goes to an organization of choice (charity, or a cause you detest e.g. anti-LGBTQ).
- Track and verify habits (e.g. taking photos, having a friend verify, etc.).
- Each time you fail to keep up with your habit (with a leeway), you lose your pledged money to the organization send proof of donation to the group
- All of the above steps, but disclosed & discussed with an accountability group on Facebook messenger
What do you think? Would you try this for building a habit/routine? I'm happy to get this started if anybody wants to join! PM me (:
