Normally open zone valve thermostat question
Post Body

I have a question regarding the thermostat that I've purchased to work with my hydronic baseboard heating system that runs a normally open zone valve.

I recently bought a Honeywell FocusPRO 5000 and had an hvac tech come and install it. I purposely chose this thermostat because I read that it could be used on the heat setting with the zone valve my heater uses. When he installed it, he said it has to be used on the cool setting.

After reading the install instructions, I can see that it clearly has a wiring pattern and settings made for the heat setting with a normally open zone valve. Am I crazy, or can this thermostat indeed be used on the heat setting instead of the cool setting or did the hvac tech install it correctly?
