I have read the often cited statistic that transmission rate from male to female is 10% per year. Valtrex cuts that in half. Condoms cut this in half again. That leaves a 2.5% transmission rate.
First, Is the above assessment correct? Second, has there been any research done to ascertain the transmission rate from genital to oral vs. genital to genital? I have found some unsupported assertions online saying that genital to oral transmission is uncommon (https://www.herpes.org.nz/herpes-patient-info/myths-vs-facts).
Can anyone shed light on this question? Is genital to oral transmission unlikely?
Thanks in advance
