Post Body

I was on bismuth, 500mg 3x/day metronidazole, 500mg 4x/day tetracycline, and pantoprozole 40mg 2x/day. I also ended up on zofran and another anti-nausea med (both didn't help). I made the post about barely making it but I finally made it through!! Thank you to everyone who shared their stories and rooted for me, I really appreciate it.

On my last day I called my doctor complaining abou thow sick I was. Turns out, I didn't need to be on metronidazole 3x a day and he switched me to 2x a day (based on my weight). So only taking 2 doses on my last day helped me TREMENDOUSLY. He also okayed me taking all my meds WITH FOOD (tetracycline especially) because my stomach wasn't able to handle anything without food. It was better for my meds to be lesss effective with food, than for me to throw it up.

I would not advise anyone to change their dosage or instructions without a consult of their doctor though.

I'm 3 days post treatment and I still feel like shit, but it's nowhere nearly as bad as while on antibiotics. My current symptoms are now fatigue, brain fog, loose-ish stools (but finally regular BMs!), lots of burping. I'm still not able to eat much rich foods, so I'm sticking to a bland diet but it feels so good to finally eat without nasuea!!

Hopefully when I retest in 4 weeks I will finally be clear of H pylori after 3 rounds! Thank you all for your kind words of encouragement and I wish everyone who has to go through this the best of luck.
