What are some of your green flags and or red flags for when you are looking for and reading fanfics

Like it can be about the story line, certain tropes used, grammar, etc

Like for me I really like it when fanfics have Harry being strong in his own right, not right off the bat but showing us him getter stronger, maybe him getting annoyed at people for being rude.

Like with Weasley bashing, the first things Ron ask him are if he can see his scar and if he can remember the night it happened. If someone asked that to me I’d nope out of there as fast as possible, so not some crazy plot with everyone trying to use Harry and shit but just Harry standing up for himself more and maybe people will be bashed but because of who they are not because Dumbledore is using the imperious curse on everyone.

Also love it when they use the chamber of secrets more. Like that is one of the coolest places but they just forget about it. And also hate of insignificant jkr made parseltongue, love it him Harry gets it other then the horcrux or when it doesn’t go away because the horcrux is destroyed.

But I really don’t like it when authors choose to make all the characters, characterized versions of themselves. Like Ron shows he isn’t the best of friends and would rather play chess or talk about quidditch than studding but that doesn’t mean he’s dumb and a horrible person.
