Ok so iv always been intrigued by how the handsome Tom Riddle turned into the hideous snake like Voldemort.
But hereâs the thing. We donât get any sort of description of what he looked like during the first war, So what made him transform. I see a few possibilities.
- Just how many insane rituals he did.
- The horcruxes
- The rebirth ritual at end of GoF.
Personally I really like the idea of the rebirth ritual being the reason. Main reason being is I see horcruxes mainly affecting the soul/mind, and not so much the physical body. Like we know that it made riddles eyes reddish and make him more pale. But I donât think it would completely change you.
Rituals effects power and while they can effect the physical body not to the point making you unrecognizable.
But by the time he is getting his body back, heâs gone so inane that he picks an absolutely absurd ritual that while would give him a body, makes him 100% unrecognizable and snake like.
What do you think? I really just hate the âbecause of the horcruxesâ is such a common response to things, like itâs just the cheap and easy way out of explaining things that you really didnât think through til it was too late.
