Non-verbal casting

Post Body

Ok this is something that iv been thinking about recently. Iv seen it in fanfiction of course but I want to know what yall think

Wouldn’t it make sense when you are learning to cast non-verbally to start at the beginning? Like lumos, wingardium leviosa, etc. like in Harry’s 6th year when snape teaches it he has them immediately do hexes and protego. So is that the way Hogwarts teaches it? Or is that another example of snape being a bad teacher.

What are your thoughts? Like if you try teaching non-verbal casting from 1 or second year but with each spell you learn could they do it? For example, when learning lumos, after you learn it verbally you do it non-verbally.

How early could they realistically teach it? Like not how early could power witches and wizards do it but for the general student population?

Any other thoughts on non-verbal casting?
