Umbridge taking Harry’s broom

Post Body

Ok so this is something iv noticed in basically every singe fic iv read that has Umbridge taking Harry’s broom in some way.

It peeves me off to no end, since she is the high inquisitor she can ban him from quidditch and I guess technically she could ban him from flying. But I feel like it’s illegal to take his broom, like that’s his personal property. She could demand that he sends it home or not ride it and if she catches him riding it she could take it but just to take away his broom for an unknown amount of time.

And even in fanfics they have it the same way. Am I the only one to see just how stupid it is and how illegal it is.

Does anyone know a fanfic where Harry isn’t a complete dumbass and doesn’t let someone just steal his personal property?

Edit:damn people really didn’t get the point of this post, I’m not saying I’m surprised she did it or that anyone in the ministry would have cared. I’m saying it’s surprising that no one in Hogwarts gave a damn, like this was right when she became high inquisitor no one was really sure what it meant at the time. It’s just depressing that not one teacher tried to help him. Like just send it back to Sirius. But maybe this is why it’s never in fanfictions. People just want another reason to hate her. Kinda lame imo
