I’m new to the Harry Potter fanfic scene and really just Harry Potter in general but so far I’ve enjoyed it massively. I recently finished Harry Crow and have started A Marauders Plan. While I really like badass Harry and his friends from Harry crow, I thought to romance was really rushed and a lot of things a bit too rushed or not fleshed out (like Draco just deciding hey I want to be Harry’s friend now yay and all the students of hogwarts pretty much always backing harry apart from minor instances all of which were Slytherin).

Then on the other hand I’ve got Maurauders plan which does the politics and ancient family stuff brilliantly (also Draco deciding not to hate Harry so far has been way more believable). But it also is a fairly slow fic and in my opinion could do with a bit more Harry involvement.

So I was wondering if a fic that’s essentially the best of both exists? Politics, ancient family stuff, family magic, fealty and alliances as well as if not a badass Harry and his friends at least fairly capable in a fight, with some harmony romance to boot (I’ve drank the Harry and hermione coolaid pretty thoroughly).

I’ve been reading fan fiction for a long time now and know I’m probably getting too picky and into “write your own” territory at this point but figured it couldn’t hurt to ask. Any fics recommended are appreciated and if they don’t have all that stuff I talked about specifically oh well I’ll still check them out. Thanks!
