I have HPV. It's been 6 months since I had my first genital wart, so not sure when I actually got the virus. The warts come and go, usually just one or two small ones at a time. I got vaccinated (after I first found out I had HPV - Urologist recommended it). I got my first two shots and am due for the third one in about a month. I hooked up with a few different people last year and a couple earlier this year, and maybe didn't use a condom with 2 or 3 - but there was oral sex with almost everyone.
With all that said, is it possible to have a sex life with HPV (and warts coming and going)? I have not had sex since the first time I noticed a wart. I haven't even kissed anyone. I'd just feel too bad/guilty trying to be intimate with someone knowing I have HPV, and I feel if I tell someone before that might end the relationship. And if I have a wart, I just dread the other person seeing/feeling it and be like 'what's that!?'
I'd like to start dating again and hook up with people. Is it ok if I use a condom and there's no oral sex? Or can I give it to someone just from kissing? If I go out with someone, how do I bring it up? 'Oh by the way, I have HPV so we can't do oral." Or should I just wait and just keep getting tested every few months to see if it clears up.
I'd appreciate if anyone has any suggestions or experiences.
Just FYI: I got myself tested (twice) for most major STDs and am negative, so at this point I am pretty sure I only have HPV.
