Anxiety or medication more damaging?

So I am only on 10mg of Celexa (SSRI) but I still deal with anxiety, occasional panic attacks, dpdr. I feel like I probably could benefit from a different SSRI or different medication but I just am too scared to try anything in fear that it might make my symptoms worse. But then I was thinking is long term anxiety and ptsd also damaging to the brain? Idk where Iā€™m really going with this but is it worth it to try new medication?
