In my communications class we were assigned a very informal personal experience speech about something that happened to us that changed us forever. I talked about how I got HPPD and how itβs made me stronger and face my anxiety and fear of change. It was terrifying yet extremely empowering at the same time. 6 months ago when I first got HPPD I never would have imagined I would get to this point where I feel confident enough to tell others my story.
I got a really good response from everyone and people told me they were proud of me for being 6 months sober. One girl even told me she relates because she got DP/DR from weed. I know not many people understand what HPPD is but talking about our stories and telling the world what we go through is really important.
