This sub seems a little "quiet," perhaps it's due to the specialized nature of HOSAS. In any case, I thought for posterity sake to recommend a game which I've been playing non-stop, and which I think any user of a HOSAS setup should check out. It's a little 6dof shooter called "ZeroGrave." If you've played games like Descent or Overload, you'll have a good idea of how this game plays. Unlike those games, however, it's a lot less about navigating mazes, and more about immediate action, even perhaps in the arcade sense. Built into the levels are "conduits" which indicate where to go to unlock keys, so you'll never get lost.
I'm playing with dual Thrustmaster 16kms and rudder pedals for forward/backward acceleration, and the controls are very responsive and engaging. I've read that the developer implemented the input system rather late in the game, but it's no worse for that. It's very easy to map and setup any number of inputs concurrently, so no need to fiddle with vjoy/joystick gremlin. The level design provides lots of navigation opportunities, whether in the "arena" segments or connecting portions of the maps, so you will be twisting and rolling your craft gleefully in ways that just simply wouldn't be possible with keyboard mouse. When facing clusters of unique and varied enemy types, be they slow moving tank units, swift spinning suicide rammers, or pesky lock on launchers, you will constantly be engaged in flight mechanics which will fire on all cylinders.
This game is simple and direct, but in a way that excels to demonstrate just how fun a HOSAS setup can be. Set it aside and pick it up weeks later, you'll be drawn immediately into the fun!
