Chiā€™ten was furious, pacing the bridge with all the gathered officers. They had all read the report

and were shocked and appalled, the grimest estimates for the battle looked like an afternoon picnic to

what had happened. The officer in charge of the attack was fearful that the admiral would have his

head for his error, was cowering in his seat.

The Total casualty list was 86 dead, 2 in critical condition, 2 lost assault craft and 15 requiring heavy

repairs. The humans suffered far more casualties with original numbers being 5679 strong, but

suffered 856 dead, 29 wounded. Less than what was estimated. Chiā€™ten finally looked at his officers,

who all shrunk back in fear. ā€œ why were we so misinformed about the capabilities of our foe?ā€

A colonel in the back slowly raised his hand, ā€œsir, we had collected the data and had assumed it was

wrong, because of the haste it was collected in. The original data said that this would happen but I had

thought it was an overestimate of the weapons of these humans. Forgive me sir.ā€ the colonel ended

with a bow.

Chiā€™ten let his fury overtake him as he began screaming at the intel officer. ā€œWHAT!? YOU MEAN THAT

YOU CHANGED DATA TO WHAT YOU THOUGHT WAS ACCURATE AND BECAUSE OF IT WE LOST MEN,

MEN WHO FIGHT FOR OUR EMPIRE, AND THEY DIED BECAUSE WE WERE GIVEN TAMPERED INTEL ON

OUR ENEMY!ā€ The colonel raised his hands in defence and tried to explain his actions, but Chiā€™ten

drew his plasma pistol firing once, hitting the colonel square in the face, killing him instantly.

Chi 'ten screamed at the remaining officers. ā€œ I WANT A FULL REPORT OF WHAT THE HUMANS

WEAPONS CAN DO AND THEIR STRATEGIES FOR FIGHTING NOW!ā€ As the officers scrambled to

complete the order, Chi 'ten sat down and rubbed his head. ā€œ What else do these humans have that we

do not yet know?ā€

Washington read the report with Lafayette, and he couldn't believe his eyes. The 30 objects he had

seen flying in the sky had unloaded 10 creatures each, who when the british sent 3 officers up to them

had opened fire, completely destroying the bodies of the officers in an instant. The british had then

opened fire with 2 volleys, killing some of the creatures. The creatures had then opened fire at an

alarming rate, they didn't have to reload till they had fired ā€œhundreds of beams of lightā€. And they

would do that with just taking a box shaped piece off their ā€œgunā€, grab a new one off their belt and

place it back on the gun and begin firing again. The british had lost a lot of men. The scouts couldn't

count the bodies since a fort had sprung up out of nowhere that the creatures were in control of. A

scout had tried to get close but was instantly shot once within 500 yards.

Washington closed his eyes to think. ā€œWhere are the british now?ā€ The scout reported they had

retreated back to the nearby town and had begun fortifying it. Washington turned to Lafayette, ā€œ

should we send a message to the british asking for a cease fire until we can figure out these creatures

and what they want?ā€ Lafayette nodded in agreement . ā€œ I may not like them, gĆ©nĆ©ral monsieur, but I

feel that is our wisest course of action.ā€ Washington nodded in agreement, quickly writing a letter and

having it sent to the british. ā€œWe can only hope we can figure a way to beat themā€

Kolā€™lent was sitting on the edge of his bed, trying to process what had happened 2 days prior. Seeing

how the humans weapons had shredded hiw men, the men of other squads, and the fucking assault

craft as well. Their armor had a shield that could deflect 50 shots of plasma fire, the armor could

survive 20 itself, while also vacuumed sealed for space combat. Yet was unable to survive one hit from

the supposed weak and pathetic excuse for kinetic weapons. As he was deep in thought, another

sergeant yelled ā€œadmiral on deckā€. Kolā€lent almost didn't get up in time to stand at attention, which

drew him to the attention of the officer accompanying him on the visit. The officer stormed over but

was halted before he could speak by the admiral. The admiral came over to Kalā€™lent, ā€œat ease, solderā€

admiral Chiā€™tan order. Kalā€™lent assumed at-ease posture. Chiā€™ten looked him straight in the face. ā€œIs

there a question you have, solder? If so speak freely, that's an order.ā€ Kalā€™lent looked the admiral in the

face, taking a deep breath before continuing. ā€œSir, why were we so misinformed, did you know about

their capabilities or did you not know?ā€ The officer looked like he was about to shoot him for what he

just said. He had just questioned the admiral in front of others. The admiral motioned for the officer to

be quiet. Chiā€™ten answered the sergeant. ā€œNo we did not know the capabilities of their weapons, thanks

to some incompetence and downright stupidity in our intel unit. The lead officer for intel had

tampered with the intel to fit what he saw fit to his biased opinion. He claimed the drones had made a

mistake. The officer in question has been executed due to his failure in preventing what had

happened. I understand that you are the only one out of your squad who made it out unscaved?ā€

Kalā€™lent responded ā€œ yes sir, only one other made it out though, and he will need a while to heal and

a prosthetic leg.ā€ Chiā€™ten spoke to the officer, ā€œ make sure that soldier gets the best care we have, all of

them, and get them the medal of wounded. As for you sergeant, after reading the reports that were

made by the other squads and yours, I'm promoting you to sergeant major. With that comes the

command of what will now be called the 501st company. Normally we would have a captain or

someone higher ranking, but since you have some of the most experience with the humans in battle

you will be in charge, the squads you fought with will be in your company. You will report to me and

me alone. No other officer in the Empires Forces will be able to tell you what to do. You will have the

best equipment we can offer. Does that sound good to you, sergeant major.ā€ Chiā€™ten saluted Kelā€™lent,

who just saluted with a look of absolute stupidity on his face. Chiā€™tan with the officer in tow left the

barracks, all the other sergeants in the barracks came up and congratulated him.

On the way back to the bridge, the officer asked why the admiral had done that? Chiā€™ten replied ā€œ

should be pretty self explanatory, he was the only sergeant of a squad who survived but lost his whole

squad, there were only 2 other squads closer to the human than his and they are all dead, quite

gruesomely in fact. And from what the other sargents reported, he had gone into a primal rage after

most of his squad had been killed in the first volley by the humans. After battle inspection had shown

he had used all his ammunition and had then taken the heavy plasma rifle form his squad mate,

statistics show that he should have killed between 10 to 20 percent of all human casualties. He seems

perfect for leading a company against humans.ā€ The officer didn't argue with that statement.
