Too Soon to Die[PDF] by Tom Godwin, published first in Venture Science Fiction magazine, July 1957.

Teaser: A starship with 8,000 human colonists is attacked by the Gerns and raided for slaves. The rest are left to die on an inhospitable high-gravity planet named Ragnarok.

I have a small collection of very old short stories from the golden age of science fiction. (1937 - 1963) I've been wanting to share this particular story with the /r/HFY community for a while but it's only recently that I've been able to get a halfway decent scan of the book. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I have!
