"Silent fire. That was the last thing I could remember of our old homes. Flames burned on, and only the quiet intensity of space seperated me from the nuclear wastelands that engulfed our worlds. A measly few thousand were able to escape a xenocide of massive proportions. I was only a child when it happened.
We ran across the stars. The last of our people had rendezvoused, and prepared a exodus from our homes to seek out a new one. All under the pursuit of an enemy that would not stop at any cost to wipe us out.
Our people were tired. There was little room in the vast expanse of the stars for us to hide. We could not settle. Anywhere we did, THEY came afterwards.
Then we came. Above the atmosphere of a Class B Star, an Azure and Emerald Jewel hung within our viewports. The issue was, it could not be our jewel.
So we discussed. We talked about our next course of action. We could not take on the species of those we met. We decided there was only one course of action. We established a course of communications, and warned them of the impending doom. We told them of the hellfire that was to await them, the hellfire that engulfed our own homes only a few solar cycles ago.
They refused. Their homes meant too much to them. One could only reason so far, but their stubbornness was immovable.
Our people were inspired. Our feet were weary, and we knew we running would only get us so far. We decided to make our last stand. Our last stand with a people only recently we were close to deciding to eviscerate.
Over the course of a few of their "years", and as we shared our knowledge of the universe around us, they entrenched themselves further in their solar system.
It was unlike anything the galaxy had ever seen. An entire star, converted to the very purpose of war. Their minds were built for war, and with the advanced sciences we had given them, their most creative minds created the most destructive weapons ever devised.
They have finally arrived. These "humans" are a young species yes. They were once weak, but now they tower in their home. The others may have an entire galaxy of resources at their disposal. The power of Mankind is far above that all. Now at arms!"

Its been a bit of time since ive even tried my hand at creative writing. Any thoughts? Any suggestions as to how this could be better? The best way to writing more compelling narrative is to practice :)
