When we first met them, we thought nothing of them. Their species was almost standard, as the prerequisites to be a spacefaring species all required the same envirnomental niche. Their brains were average, and born to an average world to an average star to our very own average galaxy. However, there was one thing unique to them. They were a crowded species. While our entire species numbers in the billions, within their own home star they numbered in the trillions. At first, we assumed their biology allowed them to make use of lower energy requirements. But as their technology progressed at faster rates than normal, and their population boomed without any percieved effects on food shortages, we immedietely realized we understimated this species. Our species were hunters. We always hunted. And until we met the humans, we took with us to our new homes across the stars, the herds and flocks of animals for our hunters to hunt, and various patches of earth for the fauna to grow across the entirity of our new mother's surface. But humans had discovered something amazing. For in their infancy, they discovered something. There are many human speculations on what it exactly is, but one day one of their gatherers left grains of grasses into a pot. Forgetting it, he left it outside as it rained. And weeks later, when he arrived again and discovered his pot, he tasted the grainy paste which the pot contained. And it was good. And as such, the industrious primitives discovered what the humans called farming. When our scientists took a gaze at the humans, they were amazed. One of our diplomats was brought to a feast, and said the humans were puzzled as he fawned over the cornucopia of foodstuffs in front of him. Over 75% of our population was unemployed when the humans capitalized on this and exported the fruits of their labor. The galaxy is now facing an economic crisis, and entire world economies are falling apart as the entire hunting worlds go without payment. Obesity is overcoming our population. The galaxy is in turmoil. And it was all due to a careless human gatherer 45,000 years ago.
