How much do y’all spend on your cars relative to your base salary?
Post Body

$140k base and I spend $650/month on the lease payment, $172/month insurance and $400/mo gas. So call it 1,250/month.

You take a long road trip and you are given 2 options a $4k car (in todays prices likely a junker) or a relatively new car, Toyota, Honda, etc. which one are you taking? I thought so

I get some people don’t care about cars, but this seems extremely low. You don’t value peace of mind for reliability? I sure would rather spend some money on a car knowing I won’t be on the side of the road trying to repair it or having it break down at the worst time

Find me a $4k car that doesn’t pose risk in todays market, go ahead I’ll wait. I’ll even point you to Craigslist as a head start, good luck!

Sedonas are really bad with rust, frame brakes down and you got yourself 5,000 in repairs

So youve proved my point, short trip or long, you’re losing piece of mind

Where are you getting this $40k number? Pretty arbitrary if you ask me
