Why do HBO films have ads now?

I get HBO max through my Cricket phone payment every month.
I liked it because despite it being with ads-every film on there through HBO didn’t have ads-I was ok with that-and if I wanted to watch something with ads-I would.
Now even the films through HBO have ads too…why did they change this?
