for my previous post i've provided reproductible video evidence:
Sprint fullspeed all the time
Have no self preservation
Their only tactic is to rush you
Snap and teleport
Have no inertia or weight at all
Sprint fullspeed inside buildings
Move incredibly unnaturally, I literally had cases of sosigs backflipping when smacked instead of falling, getting into absurd poses, and waving like a flag
have absolutely inconsistent and random damage
Sometimes they tank countless smacks and shots, sometimes their head randomly explodes
have absolutely inconsistent and random damage
Sometimes they're completely invulnerable
If a sosig is hanging off a ladder/climbable anchor and you shoot it once per second in the stomach, it will take no damage
A sosig is holding onto a pipe, and takes no damage at all
Why this is happening:
It seems to be that there is a hidden agent that is used for navigation and snaps the chest into place, it seems like a simple enough solution but it causes problems:
- The agent has no inertia, resulting in instant velocity change
- The agent is independent of the sosig, making the sosig instantly snap back into place
- The agent is not aware of the environment, and can force the sosig into unnatural poses, which otherwise would move the agent into a normal pose
- Snapping and teleportation is used instead of physical forces, resulting in weird movement
- It makes the sosig hover in midair in certain poses
To fix this, it must be changed so:
- Bodyparts apply forces relative to each other to keep them upright
- Walking involves applying forces directly on the bodyparts
- Navigation agent is snapped to the chest
- A raycast is used to determine if the sosig is touching the ground or not
