How to lessen the effects of alcohol on physique?

I (23M) workout 3-5x a week and have pretty good physique, however I enjoy drinks on the weekends with friends and sometimes dont eat enough if I am hungover leading to my physique becoming less toned and more skinny by Monday. All is fine really after i get in the gym once but I am looking for ways to lessen these effects of alcohol so I can get bigger rather than maintain my size. And yes I know i could quit drinking but I am not looking to do that at the moment.
