Questions from first experience
Post Body

So yesterday my wife and I had made our first Gunnison trip. It was awesome. Iā€™ve never really loved going to the beach but I probably had the most fun Iā€™ve ever had going in the water and walking. We both have insecurities when it comes to body image, but we both feel like no one was being judged on this beach. Once we overcame the initial nervousness it seemed natural. I want to ask a few etiquette questions for the next time.

  1. When people refer to the left, center and right, is that based off the walking mat or the lifeguard tower?

  2. Is it appropriate to apply sunscreen on the beach? On your partner? On your genitals(men)? Men, as long as itā€™s non sexual is dusting the sand off or re adjusting ok?

  3. What is appropriate etiquette for making friends? We arenā€™t in the ā€œlifestyleā€, but it would be nice to talk to others or play games for the social aspect given our regular friends would never consider coming with us šŸ˜‚.

  4. My wife likes to read, I like to sit back and people watch. I donā€™t want to come off creepy, I just am very aware of my surroundings and prefer to not be buried in my phone for a change. I really donā€™t want to offend anyone but it also seems super awkward to avert my eyes if someone looks back. Whatā€™s appropriate?

  5. I noticed there were some children on the beach as well and at first felt uncomfortable with that. But on second thought, I respect others parenting styles given itā€™s a safe environment. Would bringing our own infant be frowned upon?
