Recently a friend of mine went camping in the mountains with his family and he didn't expect the road to be rougher than he anticipated. For context he drives a 2WD 2015 Fortuner in stock form. It also rained the other night which made the road muddy and slippery.
Midway the mountain he got stuck because his car ventured to the side of the mountain and dug into the soft soil. Luckily, he was being a followed by a heavily modded FJ Cruiser who helped him get unstuck and towed him all the way to the campsite just in case.
My friend told me that he is considering to sell his Fortuner and get something that's a 4X4 and fit it with some offroad goodies because he got inspired with the FJ Cruiser who helped him.
