Before I start:
- PS4
- PS4 is connected to internet by ethernet
- PS4 is out in the open for good connection to guitar
- No other 3rd party devices are connected
- 49" Sony 4k UHD TV
- TV is set to Game mode
- Tried every HDMI port on the TV and all are the same for calibration
- Calibrated the audio perfectly (I recorded a slo-mo video on my phone and played it back to get it exact)
- Lost count of how many times I've auto calibrated
- Auto-calibrated on all difficulties to songs I know I am hitting 100% correctly
- Tried playing at all distances from the PS4, standing and sitting
- Problem is happening on both Live and GHTV
- Offered multiple sacrifices to all Guitar Hero deities, past and present
Now that that's out of the way. I AM GOING INSANE. Nothing is working. I want to get this game to work correctly so bad, it has so much potential.
For auto-calibration are you supposed to try and hit the notes as they appear and not worry about the music, or are you supposed to just try to play the notes to the music and it will adjust? I've tried both, but it never adjusts correctly.
If I put the TV on mute, it is great and registers correctly. If the music is playing, it is probably ~300ms off. I hit every note late if I try to play with the music. And if I adjust the audio calibration and move the cowbell, it seems to cause the other calibration is get worse. So strumming ends up not being instantly registered by the game anymore.
Needless to say, I am beyond frustrated. I haven't had any problems on any of the other Guitar Hero games, and I've been playing since the first on PS2.
Please help me :(

Basically I was assuming you want to strum as the outline of the notes match with your highway, but STRUM EARLY and make the cowbell in the audio calibration at least one step farther to the right of the when the sound plays than you think
