I've got a Vox Ac15C1 and have read that a new spring reverb tank is one of the quickest, cheapest, and most beneficial mods I can make in under 20 minutes.
I've learned that the model size is 8EB[#]C1B
"#" represents the reverb decay and comes in:
1 = short decay
2 = medium decay
3 = long decay
As a relatively new guitarist, I am wondering which decay lengths are typical of different genres. I'm a tinkerer at heart, so messing with this kind of thing is right in my wheelhouse, especially since the reverb in my Vox sounds like shaking a slinky in a very dark conduit pipe.
