A dear friend of mine just picked guitar back up after ten years and is wanting a simple amp that has a basic dial of effects on it (or one dial per effect, something simple) to keep moving forward.

It doesn't matter if it's a starter amp, just something not crazy expensive that would allow him to experiment with some cool effects (distortion/fuzz/delay/etc) in a simple way. I was thinking about the V2 Fender Mustang amps but I'm not sure if that would be the best way to go.

Personally, I have a massive pedalboard and amp/cab that is totally not what he is looking for - so I thought I would ask you fine folks! What do you all think would be best?
