Duane Allman’s Twin Reverb

There seems to be little info on the web about this amp of his other than he used it mainly for session work, though I have seen pics of it live on stage with the Allman Brothers. I’ve also read he had it modded to be cathode bias. Other than perhaps he preferred the tone of cathode vs traditional fixed bias, does anyone know why? The only other reason I can think of is convenience—if a power tube blows during a session he can just pop new ones in without having to bias it.

I’m a huge fan so any info about that amp (or any other of his) is much appreciated.
