Post Body

Seriously though. I sat down this weekend, I'd been fairly unmotivated. I haven't been progressing the way I like but I thought what the hell, I'll sit down and play.

I haven't used backing tracks, ever. So I decided to give one a go. I picked A Minor "sad" type track. I had printed off all those little slide rule cheat sheets that were stickied here forever and dug out the Aeolian one.

I just flipped in over to the scale diagram and slowly started placing notes. I already knew the patterns for Am Pentatonic, but I decided to leave those on the back burner and just flow.

Fast forward to today. I jammed out for over two hours and my wife even came in the room with a "Are you actually playing that or is it just on YouTube?" Which means a lot because she hates my guitars.

So basically, I've learned every note across the entire fretboard in about a total of 6 hours of play time.

I wasn't even trying to learn anything but I learned more this weekend than I have in a long, long time

I ranted a bit there but I hope that one aspiring person sees this and reads it, so they realize that while it can be challenging, sometimes pushing through the slump can drive results!
