Hey All!
TL;DR - My daughter (8) has been playing piano for a little over a year, and has expressed enough interest in guitar that we're looking at grabbing her one for her birthday in a month. Would love advice on quality entry level gear for a kid.

We bought a cheaper acoustic one a while ago, but it doesn't hold tune for shit.
I'm thinking of going electric, to be a little easier on the fingers. I also want to get something nice enough that it'll give her relatively good sound and experience, realizing that if she sticks with it, we can always upgrade later. No doubt her younger brother will also take an interest once she starts to learn. Is it possible to do guitar small amp for under $300? I feel like I went too cheap last time.
If I'm thinking wrong and should be doing acoustic for better finger strength or some other reason, please let me know.
My dad plays guitar, has a Martin I believe. I play piano. So I've got music in the house, just not super familiar with the guitar.
Thanks ahead of time! I'm sure I'll have more questions!
Apologies if this is a constant newb post, or if it's already been answered. A quick search didn't turn up much.
