[QUESTION] All my guitar recordings lack clarity/brightness. I'm certain it's not my amp or guitar, so is it my mic, interface, or computer?

Post Body

It seems like every recording I make, the guitar - especially lead - does not cut through like it would if I were playing live. I know for a fact that it is not my amp or guitar, because I've cut out most low end on each and experimented and still have the same issue.

Mic is an older Carvin CM-67 -> external mixer -> focusrite 2i2 interface -> PC laptop running ableton live.

Anyone here have any insight?

If you'd like a reference, there are a few recordings in my post history.
