I'm curious to know of there is a name for technique I have been seeing, and if so, if anyone know how it works. I have been noticing artist like Steve Vai and Joe String will put their hand on the neck by the nut to make a certain shredding type sound. I have seen other players do it but have always been interested in what it was. Can anyone help me out?
