Switching to bass

Post Body
So I’ve been playing guitar for about 4 years and I’ve always wanted to sing and play at the same time, just lay down riffs and sing, I’ve never really been interested in soloing. The problem is I can’t play and sing on guitar at the same time but I had a bass a couple months ago and I tried with it and it was much easier, but I broke. So I’m thinking about buying a new bass, a mic stand and trying to work on singing and playing with bass. Thoughts?
