Guitarists who practice every day – Have there been days when you couldn't play at the same tempo that you were comfortable with a few days ago?

Post Body

Hey guys. I've been playing guitar for years, like most of you, but recently (and finally) I was able to create a practice schedule (around 40 minutes a day) and stick to it every day. However, in the last two days, I realized that I cannot keep up with the tempo of some of the practice patterns I created. I was comfortable playing these patterns at these tempos earlier and I didn't make them jump suddenly from let's say 100 to 150, but in the last two days, my fingers have felt really tired.

My question is, should I take one-day breaks here and there? Or should I just keep practicing by lowering the tempo, and building my way up to where I was again? Or do you have any advice to overcome this obstacle if you've also encountered it? One thing to note: I also play finger bass (Recently picked it up.) and do exercises for it every day, so maybe that is putting a strain on my fingers?

Thanks!
