I am mainly asking to get an idea of what the rate of pay for instructors are there. I've been a guitar teacher for close to a decade, but have mainly only had a handful of students at a time on my own. I may have an opportunity to teach at one of their new locations, but I want to get an idea of what the pay looks like compared to what I'm already doing.
Currently I teach as an independent contractor with a nearby theater. I use one of their rooms and they only take 10% per lesson (I charge $30 for a half hour, they take $3, which I've found is a really sweet deal). I've also taught at a local music store where their cut is much larger - they charged the student $28 per half hour lesson and took $10, so I made $18.
I'm curious how these rates compare to instructors at School of Rock, or really any big box music store/school like Guitar Center, Music & Arts, etc?
