Post Body

I've been playing guitar for around 20 years. My dad got me a crappy starter Strat when I was 8, showed me "Smoke on the Water" on the high E string, and I was on my own from there. My playing drastically went down after high school because, well, life. I've been picking it back up, and while by no means do I think I'm bad, but I feel that I maybe do things incorrectly, poorly, or just lack the knowledge on a variety of things (proper form, scales, etc.) I know absolutely 0 chords, no music theory, cannot read music, and don't know any scales. I've always either figured out how to play things by ear or by tabs. My question is, I guess, is: if I want to improve on things like this, where do I even begin? Are there certain maybe YouTube channels or something that could steer me in the right direction? I practically only play metal / metalcore if that would help. Sorry if the question itself is kind of vague. It's a thought I've had for a while now and could not quite think of another way to put it
