I’m an advancing beginner guitarist (been playing for around 6 months). I’ve only had an electric the entire time and never had a string break. I got my first acoustic guitar from guitar center about a week ago. It’s a $250 Yamaha. The day after I bought it, the D string snapped, it was the stock strings that came with the guitar when I bought it. Then I purchased the Eernie Ball 12-54 Bronze Aluminum strings. The day after I purchased those ones, the G string snapped. Both sets snapped at the same place, by the bridge. I read online that it could be because the bridge is too sharp, I ruled that out because the bridge is very smooth. I don’t know if it’s because I’m playing too hard, putting the strings on wrong, or if it is the guitar itself. Help.
Update: Must’ve been just rotten luck, because now everything works fine and no strings are breaking :)
