I've played guitar for a while, and anything technical is a breeze (sweeping, hybrid picking, tuplet transitions etc) . When I try to practice doing runs or scales, however, I'm hitting a road block.
I'm getting faster, but it feels like a drummer trying to play straight on a snare faster.. There's a limit before you have to do a drum roll, which is an entirely different technique.
So I guess I just feel like I'm missing what the 'drum roll' version of guitar runs in. That might've been complete nonsense but if it makes sense to anyone, I'd appreciate a bit of a nudge in the right direction
